The SOUTH TEXAS ACTION PISTOL CLUB is a National Rifle Association affiliated club whose primary purpose is to promote the safe educational and fun use of handguns, primarily through the sport of Action Pistol Shooting.
The S.T.A.P.C. is a non-profit organization. All money from dues, match entry fees, etc. is put back into the club to purchase, maintain, upgrade, and repair the equipment necessary to run quality matches. Membership is available to anyone who has an interest in handguns, demonstrates good sportsmanship, and a willingness to compete. The competition is friendly and the more
experienced shooters are always willing to help the newer shooters cure problems and offer advice. There is plenty of good coaching available.
The matches hosted by S.T.A.P.C. are based on NRA Action Pistol competition. These are the same courses of fire as those held at the Bianchi Cup. There are many different courses of fire in the NRA rule book and they will be varied over the course of the year. Also are plans to include courses from the Steel Challenge and I.P.S.C. The matches will be held on the 3rd Sunday of each
month, January through October (unless otherwise noted). All matches are held at Blackhawk Shooting Range, 12135 Jarratt Rd., Atascosa, Texas, (512) 622-9620.
Dues for the S.T.A.P.C. are $40.00 per year. This entitles the member to reduced monthly match entry fees, the monthly newsletter, and NRA computer classification. For first time new members only, your first match is free. New shooters or those who have never competed in an NRA match before are required by the NRA to complete the Tyro course. This is a short (24 shots) and easy course which demonstrates safe and capable gun handling.
If this sounds like it may be your game or something you have read about and want to try, send us email for any questions, or come out and join us at a monthly match! All the information you need is on these Web Pages.
